A Little Light…

I wasn’t sure I was going to post today. I confess that I spent the better part of last week in a post election funk – and then once I pulled myself out of it, I discovered my computer was having issues. It’s constantly running at 100% on the C drive, I’m also unable to make any changes to the C drive (I can’t move files around or delete them) and nothing I do (virus scan, defrag, etc) seems to help.

I think I need pull out the big guns and call my friend J – who fixed the screen when it shattered last year – and see what he suggests.

It’s cooperating for the moment though. So hopefully it lasts long enough for me to finish this post.

Anyways, I think it goes without saying that I haven’t done much in the way of writing recently. At first I didn’t want to because I was in a funk, and then I was afraid that I’d get started on something only to loose it. Plus I managed to write myself into a corner again on The Undying Ones, and despite my best attempts to just force my way through, I can’t seem to get out of it. So my mind has been wandering over to The Descendants again and again, which isn’t really conducive to my goal of getting The Undying Ones finished by the end of the year.

It’s WIPpet Wednesday again – which means it’s time to share a snippet of whatever project we’re working on. Since I haven’t written anything this week, I’m going to share a line from the Descendants that likes to haunt me from time to time.  It takes place towards the end of book two – but don’t worry, it’s not spoilerish or anything. So since Wednesday was the 16th, here are 16 words:

Just a little light, she thought, to carry them through whatever dark times there might be ahead.

Now that I’m looking at that line, I can’t help but think it’s kinda fitting considering everything that’s gone on since last Tuesday…
